How do I kill Kangaxx?
Kangaxx has two forms. His normal lich form (which is not very different from the other liches you've met so far) and his demi-lich form.
Kangaxx the lich is -as all liches are- immune for spells up to level 5. This means that Breach will have no effect on him.
Once you've managed to beat his regular form, he will change into the demi-lich. Demi-liches are immune for all spells up to level 9 and require weapons of +4 or higher enchantment to hit.
Kangaxx the demi-lich will (in an unmodded game) use his innate ability Trap the Soul and the Demilich Howl. Trap the Soul is like Imprisonment in all aspects, except range. Yes, he can imprison your characters from afar. His Demilich Howl is like the ninth level spell Wail of the Banshee.
One of the many tactics to defeat him, is to use a mage with a weapon of +4 enchantment or higher that will cast Spell Immunity: Abjuration. This will make him immune to the effects of Trap the Soul. Death Ward will protect him from the Demilich Howl.
Kangaxx the Demi-lich is not immune to the instant-kill ability of the Improved Mace of Disruption.
Note that Melf's Minute Meteors are weapons too, they have an enchantment level of +6.
You can buy the scroll Protection from Magic to make one character completely immune to all his (magic-based) attacks, preferrably a character with a weapon of sufficient enchantment to hit him. And you can also use the scroll on him: all his magic will fail (this is considered as cheese).
Scrolls of Protection from Undead can be used too and since there are many more of these around, they can be better spent on all your party members. However, there's a catch. As with all characters that need to do something once they get finished (e.g. giving a "farewell" speech), you need to make sure Kangaxx the Demi-Lich can see one character (= not protected from undead) when he is near death. This way his script can still kick in and you can kill him. Otherwise he will stay at near death forever.
